This painting is inspired by Saint Clare of Assisi......she left her wealthy family at age 18 and followed St. Francis of Assisi. St. Clare founded the 'Clares of the Poor' and her followers gave their lives to their beliefs. This painting is being submitted to The Kress Project in Georgia.

I was paired up with 9 yr old Melissa to create a painting for a fundraiser for Childrens' Healthcare of Atlanta. We painted this horse and it was a big hit plus it brought in lots of money for a great cause! This subject was Melissa's idea, she helped paint it and named it! A beauty!

Twice a year the Atlanta Artist's Ctr sponsors a trip to MontEagle, TN. This is a painting I did of the MtEagle Motel. It was abandoned the last time I saw it........this spring it was gone! Oh dear.....another touch of nostaglia gone!

" The Hog Nursery "

Blue's family farm in Indiana is an artist's paradise ( pair-a-dice? ). It's been in the Dice family for 140 years......time has taken many of the old barns and buildings but this barn still stands today. I recall meeting a few 500 lbs hogs on my first visit to Indiana in 1972. Now the barn is showing it's age but is still standing tall behind the Dice Farmhouse.

Another Challenge

Seems like everytime I get to feeling bored, something challenging pops into my life.....for instance, Duluth, Georgia had a fund raiser for the Duluth Historical Society. They asked for sponsors to purchase fiberglass dogs.....and asked artists to come forward and paint/embellish one. My sponsor was the Gwinnett Community Bank and they chose me and a BULLDOG! . They wanted 'red, gold & money' all over it. I had a great time working on 'Gold Bull-ion' ( or how about 'Credit-a-bull? ) Red, Gold and Money are some of my favorite things! He turned out dandy.....altho, I didn't care very much for the name the bank gave him.....'BUCK'.... how dull is that? Buck is charming and an be seen at the Duluth Arts Council in downtown Duluth, Ga.
